In December, Andy Cohen shocked his viewers when he revealed on the show that he was expecting a baby.
During his emotional announcement, the Watch What Happens Live host revealed that he would become a first time father in "about six weeks time."
"Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science "” if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time I'm going to become a father," he said at the time.
Cohen, who is openly gay, also shared that he had a wonderful "surrogate who is carrying my future."
"Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something that I have wanted in my heart for my entire life," he added. "And though it's taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet."
In the weeks that followed, Cohen revealed that he would be welcoming a son and had two extravagant baby showers attended by celebrities like Kelly Ripa, John Mayer, Sarah Jessica Parker, Anderson Cooper, and most of the Real Housewives cast.
After much anticipation, the 50-year-old took to Instagram to announce that he has finally welcomed his first child this week.
Benjamin Allen Cohen was born at 6:35 p.m. on Monday, February 4 and weighed 9 lbs 2 ounces.
"WOW! This is my son, Benjamin Allen Cohen," Cohen captioned a black-and-white photo of himself holding the newborn, who measures 20 inches long.
The proud new father also shared that his son's name is very special because it comes from his maternal grandfather, Ben Allen.
"I'm in love," Cohen continued. "And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I'm a dad. Wow."
As soon as Cohen shared the news of Benjamin's birth, his famous pals showered him with congratulatory messages on social media.
"Sending you all the love in the world," wrote Sarah Paulson. "That's one lucky baby."
"Awwwwww so cute!!!!! Congrats!!!" wrote Anna Faris before jokingly adding, "Are you ready for breastfeeding? It's harder than it looks."
"This makes my heart so full," Meghan McCain tweeted. "So may congratulations and blessings all around @Andy - to you and baby Benjamin! What absolutely wonderful news!"
Of course, stars of the Real Housewives franchise chimed in, with Nene Leakes, who was there when Cohen broke the news, admitting that she's "shaking" from being so happy.
"I'm shaking!" said Leakes. "The tears and joy i feel for you right now! I just can't believe this...ANDY U ARE A DAD!"
Cohen is over the moon about fatherhood because he previously admitted that he never dreamed it would be possible for him.
"When I was growing up and when we were growing up ... I just never thought it would be possible, as a gay man, to grow up and have a family," he told his CNN live New Year's Eve co-host Anderson Cooper. "And here we are in 2018, almost [2019], and anything's possible," Cohen continued. "And I'm so grateful to a wonderful surrogate that I'm working with."
