The Duggars are nothing if not modest. The family prides themselves on being followers of Christ, who reserve physical intimacy for marriage only. And even when they are married, speaking about their physical relationships is not something the Duggar family has been known to do.
But one Duggar who always strays from the pack is Amy, who is Jim Bob's sister Deanna's daughter. Amy, referred to as "Cousin Amy" on 19 Kids and Counting was always a breath of fresh air for viewers, as she had a more "standard" upbringing, being allowed to watch mainstream TV and even wear pants (pants!).
Jim Bob and Michelle always treated Amy with kindness and respect, even though she didn't necessarily live the same way as their immediate family did. However, when Amy and her husband Dillon King gave an interview with PEOPLE about their sex life, you have to imagine that Jim Bob and Michelle were too thrilled.
Amy and Dillion were at the Real Love: Relationship Reality TV's Past, Present & Future event, and they were very open about the physical aspect of their relationship.
"Oh, all the time," Amy said, when asked about the amount of sex she and Dillon have. "All the time. You can't hide that. You can't hide that."
The couple admitted that a lot of their romance came from the idea of having kids. They both want a big family, so they're gearing up for the big day.
"The kids are coming," said Dillon. "We've been practicing."
The couple, who previously appeared on Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars, also spoke about how they keep the romance alive, even when things might get a little tough.
"Just keep it fresh, keep it wild," Dillon explained. "Firelight, candle, one of those big massage bed things. The whole shebang."
Dillon also revealed that he's known to give a good massage now and again to keep Amy in the mood.
"Every now and then, got to make it a thing, right?" he asked. "I can't do it repetitively because it gets too built up, she's used to it. Then it's like, how am I going to top that now, right?"
As for Amy, she didn't seem too upset by the whole thing.
"He does like candlelight," said Amy. "I have a built-in masseuse as a husband. He's incredible."
As for Jim Bob and Michelle, they've never given an intimate interview like this one, but Michelle ha spoken about the expectations of Duggar women when it comes to sex in a marriage. Essentially, they're all expected to "be available" (Michelle's words) when their husbands want to get intimate.
Anyone can iron [his] shirt, anybody can make lunch for him. He can get his lunch somewhere else. But you are the only one who can meet that special need that he has in his life for intimacy. You're it. You're the only one.So don't forget that, that he needs you. So when you are exhausted at the end of the day, maybe from dealing with little ones, and you fall into bed so exhausted at night, don't forget about him because you and he are the only ones who can have that time together.
No one else in the world can meet that need.
The interview by Amy is the most explicit thing we've seen from the Duggar family, other than when details of Josh's sexual assaults came to light.
