Season 12 of the hit television show America's Got Talent ended last fall in a twist that no one saw coming.
Fan-favorites Evie Clair, Kechi Okwuchi, and Mandy Harvey were eliminated. Instead, nine-year-old singer Angelica Hale, 12-year-old singing ventriloquist Draci Lynn, and the dance troupe Light Balance made it to the top 3.
Darci ended up being crowned winner, which meant she would be taking home the $1 million prize and get a chance to headline her own show at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The young performer proved she had what it took to win right from the start.
Her unforgettable audition aired during the first episode of the season, and it impressed judge Mel B so much that she used the golden buzzer to send her straight to the quarterfinals.
Fans of the show have had some time to recover from the emotional roller coaster season 12 put them through before season 13 returned with a bang, including another amazing golden buzzer moment.
The new season premiered this week, and some of the acts are already standing out from the rest and making headlines.
Zurcaroh, an Austrian acrobatic dance group, left the judges and audience with their jaws on the floor after their high-flying, death-defying performance.
Simon Cowell, who reminded everyone that he's been doing "this a long time," called the electrifying routine "one of the most incredible things I've ever seen on any of these shows."
His Fellow judge Heidi Klum also had nothing but praises for Zurcaroh's acrobatic act.
"You are unbelievable. I mean, there's kids flying all over the air. I can't even believe how you caught them. I was in Simon's lap for a second because one did, like, I don't know how many spins. It was absolutely incredible. Loved it. Wow!"
The viewers at home also couldn't help but share their amazement on social media.
Clearly everyone loved the performance, but one person seemed to have enjoyed it more than everyone else.
Before judges should vote to send Zurcaroh through to the next round, the show's host, Tyra Banks, interrupted.
"Hold up! Hold up!" Banks yelled at the end of the performance. "I am collecting my breath and I just, I need some oxygen right now! I'm, like, freaking out right now. This is so crazy that you know what I have to do!"
In what was arguably the most dramatic moment of the night, Tyra walked over to the judge's table and hit the golden buzzer for the first time this season, sending the troupe straight to the live shows.

While it's exciting that Zurcuroh has made it through to the quarterfinals, it comes as no surprise to those who have seen them perform in the past.
The group, made up of individuals of all different walks of life, ages and talent levels, has had over 10 years of stage experience and have performed on stages all over the world.
In 2017, they earned another golden buzzer for their semi-final performance on France's Got Talent.
They also performed at the World Gym Life Challenge, where they wowed with their multi-colored suits and green hair, and of course, an awe-inspiring routine that incorporated a number of heart-stopping lifts, jumps, and stunts.

Standout performances
As far as the rest of the performances go, a trio called We Three also stood out to the judges, especially Mel B.
The Oregon-based band is made up of siblings Joshua, 27, Bethany, 24, and Manny Humlie, 21, and they performed an original song, "Heaven's Not Too Far Away," a tribute to their mother who passed away from cancer in 2016.
"It's a song written from her perspective talking to us in her last month," Manny explained before the performance.
On their website, the band talks about how much their mom has impacted their music.
"Sadly their Mother passed away just over two years ago, but what might normally devastate and distract had the opposite effect in unifying the already intensely strong bond that makes We Three a musical rarity," it read. "Mom taught them to breathe; Dad taught them to play instruments."
Their tear-jerking song touched Mel B more than the other judges because she too lost her father to the same disease.
"I lost my father over a year ago to cancer so I just felt like that song was meant for me and my dad was singing that to me," she said.
Mel B's father passed away in March 2017 after a five-year battle with multiple myeloma.
Of course, after a standing ovation, the judges voted "yes" and We Three will advance to the next round.
"We all have parents and we are parents "”some of us. This was so strong. The best thing I can say was that I felt it," Howie Mandel said
The judges also put through another dance crew made up of all-male members.
What's so special about them? Not only are they street children who flew all the way from the Philippines to pursue their dreams, they also did most of their performance in heels!

Finally, 14-year-old rapper named Flau'jae performed the first solo song of the night. Her poignant rap, inspired by her father's death, easily made her Simon's favorite of the night "by a clear mile."
On top of the long standing ovation she received, Flau'jae got a yes from all four judges. Simon even went back stage after the performance to tell her how great she was.
