On September 27, 2017 Michael Lee Aday, aka Meatloaf, will be turning 70-years-old. The under-the-radar icon has been making a name for himself in both music and film for decades.
His trilogy of albums Bat Out Of Hell, Bat Out Of Hell II: Back In Hell, and Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose have sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, making it the 5th-best-selling album of all time.
Meatloaf earned his first Grammy Award for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for his song I'd Do Anything For Love.
Strangely, Meatloaf wasn't nearly as successful in the United States as he was in most of Europe. But in spite of this, VH1 ranked him #96 on the list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.
Meatloaf has also played two iconic characters in cult-classic Hollywood movies : Robert "Bob" Paulson in Fight Club, and Eddie in the epic The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
His TV credits also include: Glee, South Park, House, and Tales from the Crypt.
What was your favorite Meatloaf song? Let us know in the comments. For me, it was Paradise By The Dashboard Light.
Happy Birthday Meatloaf!
