Celebrities often come from interesting pasts that can lead to situations where love and heartbreak take center stage. This is especially true for musicians who find inspiration for their songs from real life situations, that no one would wish to be a part of.
Many members of Hollywood's elite have swapped lovers, wives and groupies, but these crazy love triangles haven't stopped these A-listers from advancing in their career. If anything, these particular scandals have made them even more famous.

Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale & The Nanny
Even though Gwen Stefani has found happiness with Blake Shelton, her love life hasn't always been picture perfect.
In 2002, Stefani wed fellow musician Gavin Rossdale and as their marriage progressed, welcomed three beautiful children into the world. They were always seen out and about, participating in family excursions - which also included their sons's nanny, Mindy Mann.
It was revealed in 2015 Stefani and Rossdale had split up after 13 years of marriage and 20 years together. It was later revealed their relationship broke down after the Bush front man had been having an affair with Mann for the past three years.
Stefani said the end of her marriage was "unexpected" and the "beginning of hell."
"My dreams were shattered. All I wanted my whole life was to have babies, be married, like what my parents have. Then I remember thinking,'There's gotta be a reason for this.' Of course you go through the 'Why me?' and feel sorry for yourself," Stefani told Harper's Bazaar.
"But then I was like, 'No, this happened to me already and I made something good out of it,' and that was Tragic Kingdom," she added.
Stefani and Rossdale's divorce became official in 2016, where they decided on joint custody of their three boys.
George Harrison, Pattie Boyd & Eric Clapton
George Harrison first met Pattie Boyd on the set of the Beatles' first film, A Hard Days Night in 1964. He and the 19-year-old model were instantly smitten and married less than two years later. The couple was happy through most of the '60s with Harrison writing the track "Something" in her honor.
Their marriage, however began to deteriorate by the end of the decade when Boyd became close friends with guitarist Eric Clapton.
Clapton fell in love with Boyd and ultimately confessed his feelings to the couple. She initially refused his advances which sent Clapton into a drug-fueled depression. In his haze of addiction to heroin and alcohol, he wrote his hit Layla in 1970.
Several years later Boyd left Harrison for good and she and Clapton began living together in 1974.
"Eric was very attractive and persuasive," she later said. "George and I had many problems in our relationship that had a great deal to do with the enormity of his fame and his increasing passion for meditation and the spiritual life. He frequently simply wasn't there for me, and there were other women."
Clapton then wrote his classic "Wonderful Tonight" for her, and the the couple later married in 1979.
Harrison bore no ill-will towards Clapton, often referring to him as "husband-in-law," and even attended the couple's wedding.
Sadly their union didn't last and Clapton and Boyd divorced in 1988.
Britney Spears, Kevin Federline & Shar Jackson
In 2004, it seemed like Britney Spears finally found love with her backup dancer, Kevin Federline. Fans were thrilled for the "Oops... I Did It Again" singer, until they learned she had broken up a family.
It was revealed Federline had left his pregnant fiancée, Moesha star Shar Jackson for Spears, just before she was due to give birth to their son. To add insult to injury, it wouldn't be long until Spears and Federline wed, and welcomed their first child together, Sean Preston.
At the time, Jackson said the pop star's actions "wasn't like just breaking up a relationship. It was like breaking up a family."
However, their union wouldn't last for long, as the couple would end up divorcing only two years later.
Since the end of their marriage, Federline has publicly apologized to Jackson, finally burying the hatchet.
'I know I've caused you a lot of pain. I've been really selfish. I guess I got so wrapped up in all this other sh*t that I never really got a chance to sit back and apologize to you," Federline told Jackson on an episode of Celebrity Fit Club. "I really do want you to know that I am sorry."
Brian Jones, Anita Pallenberg & Keith Richards
When 21-year-old Anita Pallenberg was able to talk her way backstage at a Rolling Stones concert in 1965 in Munich, Germany, she didn't anticipate how much she would hit it off with the group.
The young model hit it off with guitarist and founder of the group, Brian Jones. The two quickly became an item.
By 1967 they were the hottest couple in London, but their drug use took its toll on their relationship.
"He was short but very strong and his assaults were terrible," she later said. "For days afterwards, I'd have lumps and bruises all over me. In his tantrums he would throw things at me, whatever he could pick up"”lamps, clocks, chairs, a plate of food"”then when the storm inside him died down he'd feel guilty and beg me to forgive him."
That's when Keith Richards moved into the home that Jones and Pallenberg shared. That March, the three took a trip to Morocco where Richards ended up falling in love with Pallenberg.
"We went by car, a Bentley with a driver, and Brian got sick and ended up in the hospital," she remembered. "He had asthma. He was very sickly, fragile. So Keith and I drove on and left him there, and that was when we had a physical relationship."
Jones and Pallenberg split soon after causing a strain on the band. Jones alienated himself from Richards and Mick Jagger finding solace in drugs and alcohol.
In the summer of 1969 Jone was found dead in his swimming pool.
Pallenberg and Richards went on to have 3 children together. Their romance cooled down in the '80s, but they were still warm to each other.
"She's still one of my best friends," Richards told Rolling Stone in 2010.
Pallenberg passed away in June 2017 at the age of 75.
What happens off-stage to music's most iconic legends can often leave people thinking these stories can't actually be real. A lot happens on the road, at shows and on holidays that these artists find love in the strangest places.
Tommy Lee, Pamela Anderson & Kid Rock
Baywatch star Pamela Anderson married Tommy Lee, the drummer for Mí¶tley Crí¼e, a short 96 hours after meeting him in 1995. They had two sons together before the marriage dissolved in 1998.
She reportedly entered into an on-again-off again relationship with Kid Rock after the divorce. The couple had plans to marry in April 2002, but never made it to the alter.
In 2006, Anderson and Rock rekindled their relationship and tied the knot in July. Rumors believed that the quick wedding was a result of Anderson's pregnancy. In November she tragically miscarried and filed for divorce a week later.
Anderson later revealed that her and Lee occasionally hooked up after their divorce.
This created tension between the two men, where Rock stated that Lee was sending him taunting emails during his divorce.
When Anderson's exes crossed path at the 2007 VMA's a fight erupted and police were called, where Rock was cited by the Las Vegas police department for the incident.
"This was unavoidable," Rock said on a Los Angeles radio program at the time. "I had to do what I had to do because this was a long time coming. You know, I came back from the bathroom and he was sitting right there. It was even more disrespectful after everything he's said, I was like that's enough, that's it."
Anderson was also not impressed with the scuffle.
"As soon as I left, meow!" she said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show soon after. "They all went after each other."
Todd Rundgren, Bebe Buell & Steven Tyler
Model Bebe Buell served as a muse for many great rock legends in the '70s including Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Iggy Pop.
Her long-term hot and cold relationship with Todd Rundgren was interrupted by an affair with Steven Tyler, the lead vocalist of Aerosmith.
That's when she unexpectedly became pregnant with Tyler's baby. Liv was born in July of 1977, but because of Tyler's extensive drug use, Buell lied saying Rundergren was her father.
Even in 1979 after Rundergren and Buell parted ways, he maintained the lie that he was the girl's father.
It wasn't until Liv was eight years old that she met Tyler and his daughter Mia and noticed their shared physical characteristics. After mentioning it to her mom, Buell revealed the truth about her biological father.
Liv changed her last name to Tyler and the two began a bond starting in 1993.
Joey Ramone, Linda Daniele & Johnny Ramone
Linda Daniele originally dated Ramones front man Joey, but things got messy when she got into a relationship with bandmate Johnny. Some say that Daniele and Joey split by the time she got together with Johnny, but Joey took offense to the relationship, and was not shy about expressing his feelings about it.
The Ramones came to blows over it, with Johnny reportedly beating Joey so bad that he required surgery to treat a blood clot in his head.
The band continued on, in spite of the strain to the relationship between Joey and Johnny Ramone. The incident inspired the song "She's a Sensation."
In 1984, Johnny and Daniele married and they stayed together until he died of prostate cancer in September 2004.
Shania Twain, Mutt Lange & Marie-Anne Thiebaud
When Shania Twain announced her intention to divorce music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, it became one of the biggest scandals in the country music industry.
Lange not only cheated on Twain after 14 years of marriage, but left her for her best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud.
"I'll be honest: when your husband leaves you, and falls into the arms of your close friend, your self-esteem can really suffer," Twain wrote in her memoir, From This Moment On, adding she begged Thiebaud to end their affair.
But, in a bizarre twist of fate, the "You're Still The One" singer found love again, with Thiebaud's ex-husband, Frédéric. The couple tied the knot in 2011 and have been happily married ever since.
