<div><p>"I wish I could give you more," <a href="http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/nation/2017/03/25/man-taped-dogs-muzzle-sentenced-years/99634264/">Judge Markley Dennis told William Dodson in court</a>.</p><p>The 43-year-old South Carolina man has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for wrapping electrical tape around a dog's muzzle to prevent her from barking. This reflects the state's maximum sentence for animal cruelty and goes to show that this behavior won't be tolerated. </p><p>William who was out on bail at the time, had chained the then-15-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier mix outside after wrapping her muzzle 9 times with electrical tape. The dog escaped and was found in critical condition.
