Pigs are one of those animals that you can't help but love. They are these goofy little creatures that trot around and make silly noises. Especially when they are little babies, no one can resist their little faces.

But how much do you really know about the popular farm animal? It seems like a lot of people seem to be getting their own little pigs, but why is that? Well, it's because they are amazing and here is why.

1. Pigs have a sixth sense

They can actually understand the differences between positive and negative events and their hearts respond accordingly. So they will react the same way you do when something bad happens.

2. They know who their friends are

Pigs can recognize their friends by their smell and their squeal. That way they always know where there best buds are!

3. Their noses are super sensitive

They have more tactile receptors on their nose than anyone else! This helps them sniff out their friends, find food, find a mate and even how they can sense emotional states of others.

4. They have impressive memories

They can remember objects really well compared to a lot of animals. They will remember a specific object for five days after it has been removed.

5. They are FULL of personality

They are all one-of-a-kind! Each has different levels of curiosity, sociability and aggression just like humans!

6. They can learn all kinds of tricks

Move over Fido, because this little piggy is heading to the big time! Pigs can learn all kinds of tricks just like dogs do, from sit, to fetch and apparently even how to do jumps!

7. They have super sensitive hearing

Those big ol' ears serve a purpose and that purpose is to hear it all! They have better hearing than humans as they can hear between 42-40,500 HZ.

8. They are really good at reading human expression

They understand humans probably better than most actual humans. They can interpret emotions by judging the tilt of the human's head or how they point a finger!

9. Pigs love to play

Just like dogs pigs have a very playful nature. They play in a lot of the same ways dogs to like playing with balls or sticks or just by chasing each other around.

10. Pigs are self aware

Even pigs know how cute they are! They are able to recognize themselves in the mirror and understand that it is just a reflection of them and the room they are in. Seven out of eight pigs were even able to find food that was hidden by using mirrors!

So next time you see a bunch of pigs on a farm, don't act like they are just silly creatures. They are wonderfully intelligent and super sweet!
