Over the last year, actor Val Kilmer has been subject to rumors about the status of his health.
The speculation that he was dealing with a severe illness began last year after Michael Douglas revealed in an interview that Kilmer was "dealing with" throat cancer.
The Top Gun star was also spotted with a breathing aid back in 2015 but he denied all the rumors, reassured fans that he was healthy and labelled Douglas as "misinformed" in a Facebook status post.
"Some fans have mistakenly thought my silence about my personal issues meant that somehow I wasn't being responsible to my health, because of my reliance on prayer and Love. Nothing could be further from the truth," wrote Kilmer.
Six months after that status update, Kilmer finally admitted that he was diagnosed with cancer but he insists that he is improving and "healing all the time."
The 57-year-old made the shocking admission during a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session last week.
"A while ago, Michael Douglas claimed you had terminal cancer," a Reddit user asked. "What was the story behind that?"
"He was probably trying to help me cause press probably asked where I was these days, and I did have a healing of cancer, but my tongue is still swollen altho[sic] healing all the time," Kilmer answered. "Because I don't sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather."
Despite his health setback, Kilmer is currently promoting his new film "Cinema Twain," which tells the story of author Mark Twain's life.
Wishing him a speedy recovery!
