Local Business Owner Selected for Elite Ivey Program

Ottawa Company and CEO Ready to Make a Big Splash in the Digital Content Industry

Ottawa, Ontario (May 1, 2017)"“  Shared is pleased to announce that its CEO, Jordan Nabigon has been selected to participate in QuantumShift, a unique leadership development program founded by Ivey and KPMG Enterprise and sponsored by TD Commercial Bank and The Globe and Mail.  Jordan will become one of only 540 business owners to have participated in this intensive program, now in its 14th year at the Ivey Business School in London, Ontario.

From Long Lake First Nation in Northern Ontario, Jordan Nabigon moved to Ottawa at the age of 10 and just this past December became part owner and CEO of Shared.  "I don't take any opportunities for granted," says Jordan. "I am always looking to learn from others and explore different avenues where I can grow as a leader."

Shared is brand new, but not a start up.  Launched in 2005 as a small performance based advertising network with a staff of only three people, the company pivoted existing services and re branded in 2015. Now operating in the digital content industry, Shared has quickly become a leader in online audience building and engagement. The company currently has close to 30 million fans across multiple Facebook channels, generating over one billion views on its videos monthly and welcoming more than one million visitors a day to its website Shared.com.

"A lot of people may not immediately know who we are or that we are in Ottawa, but chances are our content has scrolled across their Facebook feed."  Jordan continues, "this past year we grew our staff from 30 to 50 employees and will double in size by the end of 2017."

Helping private businesses grow and improve their productivity is essential to building a more competitive Canada. QuantumShift is designed to help Canadian business owners accelerate their companies. The week-long program beginning May 7, is geared towards entrepreneurs who are past the start-up stage and who are ready to innovate. The program focuses on how to lead an enterprise through exponential growth; how to attract and retain the best employees; how to uncover obstacles that may be limiting growth; how to value a venture and use strategies for moving from business plan to financial proposition; and how to build a strong network of entrepreneurial peers to share best practices.
