As a child of two Hollywood A-list actors, what you decide to do for a career as you get older is under the watchful eye of the media.
For Dylan Michael, 17, and Carys Zeta Douglas, 14, the children of Hollywood power couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones and grandchildren of the legendary Kirk Douglas, the decision was an easy one.
To no one's surprise, Catherine revealed that both her children will be the next generation of Douglases to go into show business.
Over the last few years, the proud mom opened up about Dylan and Carys's talents, especially when it comes to acting.
"I think they're good at it," the Mask of Zorro star told Hello! Magazine. "When they're on stage, you want to look at them. And they're interested in the craft. My son wants to do a Bachelor of Arts in theatre. My daughter wanted to be a pediatrician until she was five, when she decided acting was better."
A month later, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Catherine revealed that just because her kids come from a family of actors doesn't automatically give them golden tickets to Hollywood.
"I know it's going to be hard for them because they've got their grandfather Kirk, they've got me, they have Michael, but they so inherently love it," she told Kimmel.
They go to summer camp every year, they do three musicals and straight plays, they love it. I've had a wonderful life in this business so I only "“ if they want to do it, they know the hardships and the percentages of who makes it and who doesn't. So I just think that they've got "“ they've got the talent and I know that they have the drive."
The Entrapment actress also previously discussed her children's musical abilities. She's happy to bring musical theater into the family's every day life.
"They're very musical, so we sing through life - which is a great treat for me because my husband...well, I love him, but he can't sing a note," she explained to Hello!. "You know, he claims he sang on the backing track to 'When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Gets Going,' but I know Billy Ocean wouldn't let him. But my daughter plays piano, my son plays bass guitar and lead guitar and I just bought him a huge drum set, to his father's distaste. They love disco, my son's into the Rolling Stones, and it's all very eclectic and wonderful. I love the fact that they love music so much."
For the last few years, we got glimpses of Dylan and Carys on social media and at red carpet events alongside their parents, who have been together for nearly 20 years.
Now, the teens have now begun to step out into the limelight, and Carys is already turning a lot of heads.
In addition to having a knack for acting like her mother, she also looks just like her!
Carys made her New York Fashion Week debut last year, and created a lot of buzz when she made an appearance with Catherine at the Michael Kors show.
Dressed in a black off-the-shoulder top and embroidered metallic skirt, she reminded many people of her mother's chic style.
The mother-daughter duo even sat the same way, while the models showed off their new styles.
After the show, they caught up with the designer and snagged a photo op.
Catherine and her daughter also had a chance to speak with E! News backstage, and Carys revealed that she also has an interest in fashion.
"I love fashion, this is my first show, so I'll see what happens," she said. "I definitely see it in my future, I just don't know about right now."
Catherine then chimed in, adding that her daughter is "strong and smart, has good morals and good judgement, which for a 14-year-old, you never quite know what you're gonna get."
She then revealed that the teen wants to be a brain surgeon. However, Carys corrected her saying, "Actress, model, brain surgeon - we'll see!"
Carys hasn't made any major public appearances since last year's NYFW, until now.
Now, the aspiring actress and model has once again captured our attention when she accompanied her mother to another fashion even this week.
Carys and Catherine were the talk of the night at the Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda women's couture event at the New York Metropolitan Opera House.
Not only is their resemblance striking, but the pair showed up in coordinating Dolce & Gabbana outfits.
Catherine opted for a sultry fitted lacy black dress, and Carys wore an age-appopriate off-the-shoulder floral top, and high-waisted black trousers.
They both finished off their looks with similar makeup, wavy hairstyles, and strappy heals.
Carys, who turns 15 on April 20, and her mother had the chance to pose for a lot of photos before taking their front row seats at the star-studded event.
Have a look:
The proud mom also shared snippets of the night on Instagram, including a video of their arrival at the venue.
What a stunning duo! Judging by their love for fashion, we'll definitely be seeing more of the mother-daughter duo together at events.
We can't wait to see what the future has in store for Carys. Whatever she chooses to do, it's nice knowing she will have the full support of her family.
